Ready for "anything," Bowersox talks Broadway, cutting dreads

Crystal Bowersox rocked her home turf at the Seagate Convention Center on Sunday night.
Loyal fans welcomed her back, but a lot has changed for the American Idol runner-up since she last performed in Toledo.
She's got a new record label, a new band and her second album 'All That For This" is due out on March 26.
Bowersox says this album has a different feel than "Farmer's Daughter."
"This album is much more lighthearted and happier. It's reflecting the place that I'm in my life right now."
Bowersox performed nearly all of her new songs at the concert to benefit the Toledo School For The Arts. The Elliston native attended TSA before making it big and she's never forgotten.
"It was a place that felt safe. I felt comfortable there and it's a great learning environment. I want to make sure it stays that way. I want the kids to have this place, it's so special. Toledo School For The Arts is great."
Students with TSA's choir sang backup for Bowersox in her final act, and they were impressed with her generosity.
Once Crystal finishes up her U.S. tour, she'll be hitting a different stage, Broadway.
"This summer I'm gonna play Patsy Cline." She says.
It's a leading role and with Bowersox's signature dreadlocked hair, it begs the question: is it time for a haircut?
"That remains to be seen." Bowersox laughs. "My hair, I don't know. I might be ready. I just might be ready to... I might buzz it. I might just beeezzzzz. I don't know, we'll see."
The 27-year-old has a lot on her plate and says she's ready for anything.
"I am getting better as I'm getting older and it's been a lot of hard work and sacrifice. I'm the happiest I've ever been."
