Sylvania man arrested after avoiding rape charge for 8 years

A man who has been on the run for several years, charged with raping a 14-year-old girl, is now in police custody. US Marshalls arrested the man in Sylvania for three counts of rape after being on the run for eight years.
Cheeley Andrew Hunter, 54, was arrested on the 8 year old warrant for raping a teen girl in Alabama.
He was charged with rape in the state, but he fled before his trial. Authorities say he's been on the run since 2005.
US Marshals found Hunter living on Central Avenue in Sylvania. He is currently in the Lucas County jail awaiting extradition to Alabama.
Authorities say this is truly a case where you can run all you want, but you can't hide. Hunter's criminal history includes convictions for narcotics and burglary.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of a known fugitive is encouraged to contact the US Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4-WANTED. Tipsters may remain anonymous and possibly receive a cash reward.
