TOLEDO, OH – Beginning this month,Columbia Gas of Ohio will upgrade nearly 10,000 feet of natural gas main line running the length of Elm Street from Manhattan Boulevard to Erie Street. The work is an investment of over $5.7 million.
While service to customers will not be interrupted, the upgrade will require frequent street closures. Crews will complete the upgrade in two-block intervals, beginning at the north end of the project. Additionally, several streets off of Elm will see upgrades. The project is anticipated to continue through September.
Street closures are anticipated to last for approximately one week per block, during which detour signs will be posted. Local traffic access and routing will be determined on a block-by-block basis. Columbia Gas will offer frequent updates as schedule adjustments become necessary. Attached is a tentative street closure schedule.
