After winning the first two games of the Warner Invitational on Thursday, Lourdes found itself on the opposite end of both games on Friday, dropping an 11-3 decision to #17 Bellevue (Neb.) in the opener and a 10-4 contest to Bethel (Ind.) in the second contest.
Bellevue scored two runs in the bottom of the first before the Gray Wolves answered with a pair in the top of the second inning. Marty Ramirez (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.) and Cody Berg (Garrettsville, Ohio/James A. Garfield H.S.) had back-to-back one-out singles and Garrett Jex (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green H.S.) plated the first run with a double. In game two against Bethel, the second inning proved to be the difference. Lourdes committed two errors and gave up 10 unearned runs as a team on just five hits while walking three and hitting another batter.
Tim DeCant (Northwood, Ohio/Lake H.S.) singled home a run in the third to put Lourdes on the scoreboard and the Gray Wolves added two more runs in the sixth.
