Walking across campus you'll see students smoking.
But a new rule could make cigarettes a thing of the past-at least at BGSU.
The University is considering a campus-wide smoking ban.
"I think for it to be successful it's going to require some cultural change which will take some time," says Dave Kielmeyer, BGSU Spokesperson.
It's a move gaining popularity in Ohio. So far 7 colleges in the Buckeye state are smoke free, including the University of Toledo.
But the plan is getting mixed reviews from students.
"It's a good and a bad thing I know some students will struggle," says Liane Cesare.
Cesare is a smoker. She's in the process of quitting but thinks the ban could leave some students stressed out.
Right now the University is trying to figure out how to enforce the ban and if the new policy would include area's for smokers.
The policy is still in committee. Once that is finished, the policy has to go President Mazey for approval and then the trustees have to sign off. If they sign off on the ban, the policy could become a reality this Fall.
