Toledo Police are investigating an attempted abduction that happened Thursday morning.
Police say a 15-year-old girl was walking to school along Bennett Road, when a man or older teenage boy pulled up in a minivan and asked if she wanted a ride. The girl refused, but police say the man continued to follow her when she turned onto California Boulevard.
According to police, that's when a woman nearby saw the man grab the girl by the arm and try to push her. The woman asked the girl if she was alright, brought her into her home, and called police.
The suspect is described as Hispanic, about 5'4" tall and weighing around 120 lbs with a mustache and a bit of a beard. Police say he was wearing a brown coat, white and blue plaid shirt and gloves. He spoke with a heavy accent and may have a facial scar. Police say he was driving a red or maroon minivan, possibly a 2003 or 2004 model year with tinted black windows.
