One group is working to
lower unemployment numbers and find jobs for its members in the process. The
casual get-together takes place every Friday morning. Members are invited
strictly through word-of-mouth. They all attend for one reason: to find jobs
for themselves and each other.
The group was formed by
a handful of former employees at Owens Corning. They started by going to a
coffee shop, but they had to move to a bigger location because so many people
started showing up.
Those volunteering their
time asked us not to disclose the location, because they feel they have as many
job seekers as they can handle.
