Former UT men's basketball coach Bob Nichols dies

Posted: Updated:

Legendary University of Toledo men's basketball coach Bob Nichols died Saturday. He was 82.

Nichols led Toledo to their last NCAA tournament appearance.

In 22 years at the helm, Coach Nichols won more than 370 games, more than any coach ever in the MAC.

He had five conference titles and five years with 20 wins or more.

Nichols coached his last game in 1987, but he was still very active on campus and in the lives of many of his former players.
