Does this building look familiar to you? It used to be the Holiday Inn on Reynolds Rd. not far from the now demolished Southwyck Mall. The former 7-story hotel is poised to re-open as the Genesis Village.

Ten years ago, the property changed hands and emerged as the "Genesis Dreamplex." After $6M in renovations, the facility is once again ready for a re-boot.

Wednesday at 10 a.m., 13abc is set for a sneak peek inside the Genesis Village, which is still under construction.

Once completed, the living center for senior citizens will have 138 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. Plus, a pool and fitness center, library, multi-media room and salon, all under one roof. The project, partially funded through a $600,000 block grant, is expected to be completed in the next few months. Genesis Village is on track to open in the summer of 2013.

The Riverdale School teacher caught on camera being physical with a student has resigned. Superintendent Eric Hoffman tells 13abc he received Barb Williams’ resignation letter Friday. Hoffman will not release the letter at this time. He tells 13abc he will give the letter to the school board Monday at its meeting where the board is expected to formally act on the resignation. Hoffman would only say the letter says she will resign immediately.
