Statewide child porn bust

Posted: Updated:

Child porn suspects got an unexpected surprise today. Special agents searched several homes across the state including one in Walbridge. Special agents with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation searched a mobile home at 27695 Tracy rd.

BCI agents searched this mobile park home on Tracy road where child porn was allegedly downloaded and shared by an adult male. This grandmother lives in the trailer park. @

"To think that this stuff is going on in our trailer park that's pretty scary," said resident Sandra Martinez.

The investigation which involved multiple police departments throughout the state of Ohio is called Operation Download.

"Based on the information obtained during the investigation led agents to believe that there was evidence of child pornography at this particular location," said special agent supervisor with the Ohio Attorney General Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation Savalas Kidd.

BCI agents went through the home and confiscated computers and other evidence.

Special agent Savalas Kidd says children should be able to enjoy their youth without being targeted by predators.

"Once we are made aware of these type of crimes and we continue with all our our investigative efforts is to ensure the safety of all the residents specially children of this community," said agent Kidd.

After agents left the property. I knocked on the man's door to get a comment.

"Alexis knocking and rings door bell. Alexis says Hi I just wanted to see if you wanted to make a comment in regards to the search here. Adult male suspect says No No No comment. Ok Thank you"

Agents started investigating these alleged sex crimes nearly three months ago.

Sex crimes they say destroy communities and keep families on edge.

"We talk to them all the time because now a days you just don't know. We're out in the yard with them all the time. You know you have to keep an eye on them if they'rE in the back yard. People drive in and out of this trailer park anybody can lift your kid in a heartbeat and that's a very scary situation it really is," said resident Martinez

The adult male whose home was searched was not arrested.

Police say they will review all the evidence and talk with prosecutors to determine if any charges should be filed.
