"Dancing with the Military Stars" to benefit vets

Posted: Updated:

Local celebrities are getting ready to show off their dance moves, taking part in a press party Tuesday night ahead of next month's "Dancing with the Military Stars."

It's a community event benefiting veterans with traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress.

Celebrities include Kevin Braun, winner of ABC's "The Glass House," Steelers Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski and Toledo Mayor Mike Bell.

All participants are dancing in honor of a veteran.

"This is a way to actually come out, honor them, but to be together and enjoy the time, the evening, with them," says Founder and President of The Arms Forces Pam Hays. "See that, even though they have challenges, they are very giving members of society."

"Dancing with the Military Stars" takes place May 18 at the Stranahan Great Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
