PERRYSBURG, Ohio -

The Make-A-Wish Foundation needs more help reaching its goal of 2,000,000 air miles today.

By 12:45 today, 550,000 air miles were donated through the volunteer phone bank in Perrysburg, and they're hoping for a very strong finish, late this afternoon.

Delta, United/Continental and U.S. Airways miles can be donated to Make-A-Wish.

These miles support their goal, making dreams come true for seriously ill children.

Last year, Make-A-Wish granted wishes to 13,000 kids.  In three quarters of these cases, air travel was required.

If you have air miles that you're willing to donate, please call 1-888-272-9474 between now and 7:00 p.m.  You will need your airline account number.  Mileage donations can also be made online at www.makeawishohio.org.

"Air travel is a critical resource as we work to grant the heartfelt - and oftentimes very creative - wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions," said Sophia Morton, Vice President of Program Services for Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. "Donating airline miles will allow us to continue creating hundreds of lasting moments for children with life-threatening medical conditions."

Join 13abc in helping to spread the word on World Wish Day on Monday.

We'll continue with live updates at 5, 5:30 and 6, on 13abc.
