Bryan plane crash survivor in fair condition

Ken Hyne, 51-years-old of Ann Arbor, is now listed in fair condition at Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo.

He was the passenger in a plane crash Saturday morning near the West Air Strip in Bryan, Ohio.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says self-assembled single engine aircraft was attempting to land on the grass runway at Aero Park around 8:30 a.m. when the crash happened. Another aircraft was also attempting to land coming from the opposite direction.

Leslie Dean, the 62-year-old pilot of the plane tried to avoid the other plane by gaining altitude and veering to the left, but lost the aircraft lost power and crashed into a field north of the runway.

Mr. Dean and his passenger  Hyne were taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent's Medical Center were Mr. Dean died a little after 1 p.m.

The second plane landed safely.

The crash remains under investigation.
