RockMoore concert benefits Moore, OK tornado victims

Posted: Updated:

Several bands performed in Sylvania on Sunday to raise money for the victims of last month's deadly tornado in Moore Oklahoma.

Concert organizer Larry Cready said, "We just thought maybe, in our own little way here in Toledo, we could help these people pick up the pieces and kind of move on. You know its terrible what happens, its natural. It happens all the time to everybody and you know again, we're just trying to put a little fund together and you know see if we can help them out a little."

The "Risin' From the Rubble" concert went until 10 p.m. at Centennial Terrace.

A temporary fence is now in place around a private pond in Perrysburg. That's after an elderly man somehow fell into the water and died. It happened last week, at the senior living center "Saint Clare Commons."Rescue crews recovered the body of John Voland, along with a motorized wheelchair. Voland, who was 94, lived at the facility. The director tells 13abc the temporary fence will stay up until the completion of the internal investigation and the one by police.
