Toledo's 8th wettest June on record

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, Ohio -

This was Toledo's 8th wettest June on record, with 6.35" of rain.

That's 2.78" above average, but still a little more than 2" shy of the all time wettest June in the record books.

Rain has been observed at the Toledo Express Airport, each day since June 22nd - that's 9 consecutive days with at least a trace of rain.

Toledo's wettest June (since official records began in 1873) was in 1981, when Toledo received 8.48" of rain.

This Sunday, only 0.03" fell at the Toledo Express Airport.

However, just to our south, a very heavy thunderstorm produced flash flooding in Green Camp, Marion County.

In Green Camp, State Route 203 was closed due to flooding, along with numerous other roads in the area.

There were also reports of flooded basements.

To our northwest, there was also some active weather.

Just northwest of Hillsdale, some intense rain showers produced wind gusts to 40 mph in Calhoun County, Michigan.

The wet weather is likely to continue into July.

July averages 3.23" of rain in Toledo.
