Scene for “Transformers 4” filmed in Lenawee Co.

Posted: Updated:

There was high-speed drama in Lenawee County last week! After some delays due to rain, movie crews were finally able to shoot a scene for "Transformers 4" last Friday.

Officials shut down portions of M-52 just south of Adrian to film a scene featuring "Optimus Prime" driving through some explosions.

A Lenawee County resident and big "Transformers" fan heard the movie crew would be in town and captured of the action.

"I was just filming these trucks coming down the highway, and then all of a sudden the explosions started, and I'm like, 'Whoa!'" Jeremy Sell says with a laugh. "I don't expect anything like this to ever happen again, but it was cool to be there when it was happening."

Transformers 4 will hit theaters in about a year. It's scheduled to be released June 27, 2014.
