Steven King case heads to the Grand Jury

Posted: Updated:

Today marks two months since missing Toledo toddler Elaina Steinfurth disappeared from an East Toledo home.

Steinfurth was last seen back on June 2nd at a home on Federal Street.

Today Steven King, Steinfurth's mother's ex-boyfriend faced a judge. He's accused of lying to investigators about information related to the toddlers disappearance.

The Lucas County Grand Jury is now reviewing the case and King could be indicted on charges as early as today in Lucas County Common Pleas court.

Both King and Angela Steinfurth, Elaina's mother, are both locked up in the Lucas County Jail on obstructing justice charges. They are both accused of giving false statements about the girl's disappearance.

Police say they are still actively looking for information that would give them answers about the baby's disappearance.

Meantime, Steinfurth is due back in court August 15th for a pre-trial hearing.
