Lourdes University head men's lacrosse coach Patrick Yannarelli has announced the hiring of Chris Scheldt and Ian Wolfe as assistant coaches for the Gray Wolf program beginning this fall.
Scheldt played three seasons at Hope College where he scored 11 career goals and added eight career assists in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association. He helped the Flying Dutchmen to three straight Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association finals.
A native of North Muskegon, Mich., Scheldt played football, basketball, and baseball at North Muskegon High School and eventually was an assistant junior varsity basketball coach at the school. Scheldt has spent time as a marketing intern for the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League.
Scheldt earned his bachelor's degree from Hope in management in 2012 and is perusing his master's degree in organizational leadership at Lourdes.
Wolfe arrives at Lourdes from Lake Erie College where he played four years in goal. He helped the Storm earn a pair of NCAA Division II tournament appearances.
Originally from Bridgeville, Pa., Wolfe played four years at Chartiers Valley High School where he was a three-time First Team All-Conference goalie and named Defensive Player of the Year. He also spent three years playing for the Pittsburgh ACES summer team.
Wolfe has helped numerous Pittsburgh area schools with defensive play and goaltender work while also coaching the Pittsburgh Select Lacrosse U-15 team.
Wolfe is a 2013 graduate from Lake Erie with a degree in fine arts. He is currently working on his master's degree in organizational leadership at Lourdes.
