The Big Ten women's soccer season is set to begin this weekend, with all 12 conference teams lifting the lid on the 2013 campaign. Seven teams will host season-opening homestands on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Minnesota will kick off the annual Gopher Tournament by entertaining Toledo. Nebraska will take on Southeast Missouri on Friday night, and Northwestern will host Western Illinois. Purdue will face Akron in the first round of the Boilermaker Challenge Cup, and Wisconsin opens its season on a four-game road swing, beginning with a trip to Connecticut on Friday.
