TPS to host open house for students

Toledo Public Schools start school Tuesday and students can get prepared for the new school year at Monday's open house.

TPS is hosting an open house for elementary students from 5:30 until 7 p.m. Monday evening. 

Open house is a great time for students to meet their teacher and principle before the first day of school. 

High school open houses are scheduled for other times during the next few weeks, a timetable is listed below.

   Bowsher High School ~ August 29th  -  6 - 7:30 p.m.
   Scott High School ~ September 11th - 5 - 7 p.m.
   Start High School ~ September 5th - 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
   Toledo Technology Academy ~ September 3rd  - 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
   Waite High School ~ September 19th - 5 - 9 p.m.
   Woodward High School ~ September 11th - 6 - 8 p.m.

    A young man's body was found in a landfill in Lorain County Tuesday. Sheriff's investigators say the body is that of 22-year-old Cory Barron of Fremont. The BGSU graduate was last seen Friday at a concert at Progressive Field. Investigators say he left one group of friends to meet another and then vanished. An autopsy is set for Wednesday to determine how he died.
