Fundraiser for family of man killed in motorcycle crash

Posted: Updated:

He was father to five children and was suddenly taken from them in a deadly motorcycle accident last week on Douglas Road.

Now the family of the man killed in that accident is planning a fundraiser and speaking out against the man charged in the crash.

Toledo Police say Jason Alexander was on a motorcycle, when a vehicle driven by David Robinson swerved and hit him head on. After the crash, police found Robinson, who's 39, allegedly walking away from the scene, near Miracle Mile shopping center.

Robinson, who has an extensive criminal record, is being held on charges of failing to stop after an accident.

Alexander worked on cars for a living and was often at the AutoZone on Alexis. This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. his family plans to hold a car wash benefit in the parking lot to help pay for his funeral.

If you can't make it out, the family has set up a fund in Jason's name at any Fifth Third Bank.
