After a tough fought loss last night, the Yellow Jackets came back today in a big way, winning 6-0 over Keystone. With the win, Defiance takes third place in the Mount Union Invite.
Six different Yellow Jackets scored the six different goals against Keystone. Four of the goals came in the first half, including a goal from 25 yards out by Drew Metz. Kevin Arriola put in his second goal of the season just three minutes into the game. Ashten Forde also put in his second goal of the season in the first half and Michael Hall chipped in another to give the Yellow Jackets the commanding 4-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, freshmen Dylan Dorley and Brian Kurtz scored their first career goals to help Defiance cruise to the easy 6-0 victory.
As dominant as the offense played in the game, the defense matched them. The Yellow Jackets defense gave up just two shots and only one shot on goal, which senior goalie Sean Roberts took care of.
Defiance finished with 15 shots with 13 of them being on goal. DC plays next Wednesday, September 11 at Heildelberg at 5:30 pm.
