Blaze Hogan and Kirby Manown torched the competition in today's Defiance College Fall Invitational to help the Express men's golf team capture first and third place finishes.
The "A" team for the Express combined to shoot a 287 as a team while capturing first place. They finished 21 strokes ahead of second place Olivet College.
Hogan (67) and Manown (68) led that team, while Philippe Weppernig(75), Harrison Long (77) and Brandon Hoelzer (82) also contributed to the title.
Meanwhile, the Express "B" team shot a 309 to take home third place, while coming one-two strokes away from giving the Express both first and second place.
Timothy Dawkins shot a 75 to lead that team, while Dru Hein (76), Riley Robinson (77), Tyler Crossley (81) and Neil Recker (89) also contributed to the effort.
Rochester College (313) and Cleary University (326) rounded out the top five, while the host, Defiance College, shot a 327 to finish in sixth place.
