The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Adrian College running back Damon Brown as its Offensive Player of the Week in football for games played on Sept. 28.
Brown, a senior from Troy (Troy HS), rushed for 156 yards on 19 carries and scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 28-yard run in the third quarter as Adrian rallied to post a 28-14 victory over Carthage, Wis. Brown is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Brown's performance at Carthage was the second-highest rushing total of his career and the second week in a row he rushed for over 100 yards. Brown carried for 117 yards including a career-long 80-yard touchdown against Concordia Chicago on Sept. 21. Brown has now rushed for over 100 yards five times in his career and has 1,193 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns in 28 career games for the Bulldogs.
