Lourdes women's cross country team took the trails for the second to last time during the 2013 season on Saturday afternoon, finishing in 33rd place at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge held at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The Gray Wolves finished the race with 999 points, just six points behind conference foe Lawrence Tech. Taylor won the race with 80 points, six points ahead of runner-up Olivet Nazarene.
Ashley Yeager (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.) led the way for the Gray Wolves, finishing with a time of 22:23.50, edging out teammate Chelsea Goebel (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) by 0.53 seconds. For both runners it was their personal best times by more than a minute.
Hillary West (Walbridge, Ohio/Lake H.S.) finished third for Lourdes with a time of 23:55.70 while Megan Mosiniak (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen H.S.) finished fourth for the team, finishing the five-kilometer course in 26:23.49, a personal best by more than two minutes.
Alyssa Schaub (Archbold, Ohio/Archbold H.S.) completed the scoring for the Gray Wolves with a time of 26:28.51, just ahead of teammate Hannah Spangler (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview H.S.), who posted a personal best time of 26:40.76.
Hannibal-LaGrange's Kristen Garwood won the race with a time of 17:54.63.
Lourdes will close its inaugural season back at Riverside Park on Nov. 9 for the WHAC Championship. The gun will fire at noon.
