Toledo -

As of Friday, more than 15,300 new toys were donated to 13abc's Hope for the Holidays toy drive.  Toys continued to arrive every hour throughout the day Friday at 13abc studios on Dorr Street.

Plus, it's not too late!  Donations of new toys continue to pour in to 13abc's Hope for the Holidays toy drive.  The drive continues through December 20th.

13abc's lobby was emptied of toys last Friday only to be filled again this week by generous donors.  Contributions of new toys are still being accepted at 13abc studios (Dorr and Reynolds), all Vito's Pizza stores and several locations listed below.

More than 9,000 toys have been donated so far with distribution coordinated by the Salvation Army and scheduled for next week.

Last Friday, it was quite a scene outside 13abc studios as the third annual "Hope for the Holidays" toy drive kicked into high gear with the "drive through bash" Friday.

A busy day began before sunrise with appearances by the Pink Panther, Santa Claus, Spike and other mascots from sports teams.  Entertainment included local musical groups, cheerleaders and an antique fire truck.  Children came to see three miniature horses from Serenity Farms.  The campaign is an effort to help children in need enjoy the Christmas season.

13abc news personalities were outside the station to help unload donations of toys all day.  A large tent was home for musical groups performing holiday music including a double quartet from the Greater Toledo International Youth Orchestra during the Noon hour.

The event outside 13abc studios at Dorr Street and Richards Road made it easy for people to drop off donated toys which will be distributed to area families during the holidays.   Every person donating receiving a free slice of Vito's pizza.  Hot coffee from Bigby's was available along with hot chocolate will from Mr. Bob's Q and cookies and hot dogs.

Santa Claus was at the bash all day to greet children and this year, three miniature horses from Serenity Farms took part.

Scott High School's drum and Bugle Corps performed at Noon and Bowsher High School had its cheerleading squad on hand.  Officials from Toledo Public Schools donated toys and Toledo Mayor Mike Bell will dropped

The campaign to help area children with new toys for Christmas continues through December 20.  The drive resulted in the donation of more than 18,000 new toys last year which were distributed throughout the Toledo region by the Salvation Army.

Thousands of children enjoyed a happy holiday season in 2012 thanks to the generosity of the community.  This week, an anonymous donor brought eight new bicycles and helmets to 13abc to be donated before this year's drive even began.

Sponsors for the Hope for the Holidays campaign include the 13abc, the Salvation Army, Hylant, and Vito's Pizza, Gallon, Takacs, Boissoneault & Schaffer, Dave White Chevrolet and Acura and Jim White Toyota.
