Local restaurant gives free Thanksgiving meal to homeless

Posted: Updated:
MONROE, Michigan -

Tuesday a local Monroe restaurant hosted Thanksgiving for the homeless

Cozy Corner Coney Island opened it's doors to hundreds of people for a free Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings. The family owned restaurant began the holiday tradition 35 years ago. Owners say even though money is tight this year, helping those less fortunate is important.

"At the same time we're getting a shot in the arm for the business. We're doing this for the people out of our hearts and hopefully they give it back to us as the community.", says Peter Stylianou, Owner Cozy Corner Coney Island

Owners say they plan to hold a similar event around Christmas.
