UPDATE: Toledo Police reports student linked to lockdown in custody

Update: 11:05 a.m.

Police say the student is 14 years old. It's unclear what charges he'll face.

Toledo police went into the school and according to police shot the teen with a "bean bag" and he surrendered.

Update: 10:58

TPS Leader Jim Gault says he doesn't know how the weapon got inside of the school. It is reported that the weapon the student had was a pellet gun. The male teen is now in custody and is facing expulsion.

School leaders say the teachers and other personnel acted quickly to keep students safe.

Students will be dismissed for the day at 11:30 this morning from the field house.

Parents must bring a picture ID to pick up their students.

Update: 10:54 a.m.

All students at Scott High School will be gathered in the auditorium and then dismissed for the day. Again, suspect is in custody. No injuries reported.

Toledo Police reporting on Twitter, the teen linked to the lockdown at the high school is now in custody.

Toledo Police are saying that the student is isolated in a hallway.  Students in the classrooms adjacent to the hallway have been evacuating.  NO STUDENTS are in danger.  Police say, "the children are fine. Everyone is fine."

Update: 10:31 a.m.

Alexis Means is reporting the school busses are arriving. It's unclear if they are moving students out of the building. Once again *NO STUDENTS* have been injured. TPS leaders say the student with a weapon is isolated and *NO STUDENTS* are in immediate danger.

One parent reports she got a text message from her daughter after reports of people screaming inside. She is continuing to text with her daughter.

Update: 10:06 a.m.

Sources say student is inside of a classroom with a weapon. He is reportedly 15 years old and is refusing to come out of the room. Police say this is NOT a hostage situation and at this point there are NO injuries to report.

Some parents are arriving at the high school.

Toledo police, SWAT team members, a negotiator and additional rescue crews are parked in front of the school.

Update: 10:00 a.m.

Officers are reportedly lining the halls of the high school right now.

Update: 9:56 a.m.

Toledo Police have closed Machen Street to traffic.

Update: 9:54 a.m.

Toledo police sources tell 13abc the student is in a behavioral intervention center. He apparently refused to leave the room and a standoff has started.

Police have called in the SWAT team.

No injuries have been reported

 

Toledo Police are reporting Scott High School is on lockdown after reports of a student with possible weapon.

Right now officers are on the scene and tell 13ABC someone is inside of the school with a weapon. Sources say the student has been contained in a room.

No injuries have been reported but the SWAT team is being called in to negotiate.
