Perrysburg Costco delay

Posted: Updated:

13abc Action News has learned of a delay in the process of bringing a Costco to Perrysburg.

City leaders say a public hearing scheduled for next week to consider a special approval use permit for Costco has been postponed until further notice. Additionally, the request for final site plan approval scheduled for December 19th has also been postponed.

Perrysburg officials tell us that they have no information regarding the future timeline of this project. They also say they will continue to be in contact with Costco representatives and will provide all required notices when this project is ready to move forward.

The potential warehouse near the corner of Eckle Junction Road and SR 25 would be the first big-box store in Perrysburg. It would also be the second Costco location in northwest Ohio. Costco has had a store in Toledo since 2007.

Originally, Costco spokespeople said they were aiming for an opening date in Perrysburg in the fall of 2014.

13abc Action News will keep you posted on any further developments.
