Drunk driver hits, damages house in Lake Township

Posted: Updated:

Police say a driver was under the influence of alcohol when he went off the road and into a house in Lake Township at three in the morning on Saturday.

The Bowling Green Highway Patrol Post says it happened on State Route 163 west of Bradner Road in Lake Township.

Jesse Molina, 36, of Genoa was driving westbound on SR 163 and went off the north side of the road. His vehicle struck a tree, rotated and then hit a house.

Molina sustained serious non-life threatening injuries and was taken to St. Charles Hospital.

The house had damage to the front porch and possible damage to the foundation. Fortunately, none of the occupants were injured and the house is still habitable.

Officers say alcohol contributed to the crash and Mr. Molina was charged with OVI, State OVI and failure to maintain reasonable control.
