Crews take advantage of weather to patch potholes

Posted: Updated:

Crews from the City of Toledo took advantage of the recent break in winter weather to tackle some of the potholes making driving difficult in Toledo.

The corner of Central and Upton was just one of the many spots that got attention on Saturday. Five crews from the city were tackling potholes during the day.

The crew 13abc followed combed West Toledo, concentrating their efforts on large potholes that drivers have reported on the City's 410-936-BUMP hotline.

The Department of Streets, Bridges and Harbor says it's been trying to keep up with the potholes for weeks as they form. And with all the recent snow and rain, it's been a challenge.

Drivers say the potholes have been wreaking havoc on their cars.

Stephen Schrew says, "I was going deeper into Toledo, I hit a pothole and it popped my front right tire. My girlfriend has a problem with potholes all over, not just Toledo. But Toledo is horrible. As soon as that snow clears up, there's deep, deep potholes."

The City of Toledo wants residents who come across problem potholes to report them at 419-936-BUMP.
