PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A fire is burning at a minor league ballpark in western Michigan.

Video from the scene shows flames and heavy black smoke Friday morning from part of the building at the 10,000-seat Fifth Third Ballpark near Grand Rapids.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

The fire was reported about 11 a.m. and was burning about an hour later. Smoke was visible for miles. Temperatures were in the single digits as crews responded.

The stadium is the home of the West Michigan Whitecaps, the Class A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers.

The Associated Press left phone and email messages seeking information from officials at Fifth Third Ballpark. No one was immediately available at the fire department in Kent County's Plainfield Township, the lead agency on the fire, to provide information.
