Winter Storm Update

A *WINTER STORM WARNING* remains in effect for the area through early Monday morning

SNOW

Moderate to heavy snow continues to fall and will begin to taper off after midnight into the early morning hours of Monday.  Total snow accumulations are posted with the map.  An average amount of snow will range from 6-10 inches.

WIND

North winds will increase tonight to 20-30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.  The wind will shift to the Northwest and then to the west tomorrow and still gust up to 40 mph at times.  This will cause blowing and drifting snow problems right into Tuesday, and maybe even into Wednesday.

COLD

A *WIND CHILL WARNING* is in effect from Monday morning through Wednesday morning.

Temperatures will drop into the single digits by morning with wind chills ranging from -5 to -15.  Monday's temperatures will begin in the single digits, but drop below zero in the afternoon.  The temperature combined with the gusty winds will drop the afternoon wind chill to -20 to -30.  The wind chill may bottom out near -40 on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday looks bitterly cold, but dry, with an actual high temperature of -4 degrees!  Dry weather on Wednesday, highs in the teens.  Snow returns with the forecast for Thursday with 1"-3" of new snow expected.

    A temporary fence is now in place around a private pond in Perrysburg. That's after an elderly man somehow fell into the water and died. It happened last week, at the senior living center "Saint Clare Commons."Rescue crews recovered the body of John Voland, along with a motorized wheelchair. Voland, who was 94, lived at the facility. The director tells 13abc the temporary fence will stay up until the completion of the internal investigation and the one by police.
