Ohio State's Aaron Craft named Player of the Week; Wisconsin's Nigel Hayes tabbed Freshman of the Week

 

Player of the Week

 

Aaron Craft, Ohio State

G – Sr. – 6-2 – Findlay, Ohio – Liberty Benton

 

  • Averaged 8.0 points, 7.0 assists, 3.5 steals and 5.5 rebounds per game without committing a single turnover in a pair of Big Ten wins at Purdue and versus Nebraska
  • Against the Boilermakers, handed out 10 assists against zero turnovers, pulled down eight rebounds, swiped four steals and chipped in eight points in playing all 40 minutes
  • Against Nebraska, scored nine points on four field goals, made three steals, dished out four assists and corralled three rebounds
  • Currently leads the Big Ten in steals (2.5) and ranks second overall in assists (4.9 apg) and assist/turnover ratio (2.7)
  • Has led #3/3 Ohio State to a 15-0 start to the season, the Buckeyes' best start since 2010-11 when they began the season with a 24-0 record
  • Earns his second career Big Ten Player of the Week plaudit and third weekly conference honor

  • Averaged 13.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in a pair of Big Ten wins over Northwestern and No. 22/23 Iowa, helping Wisconsin remain unbeaten on the season
  • For the week, shot 56.3 percent (9-of-16) from the field
  • Has scored in double figures in three of the last four games
  • #4/5 Wisconsin improved to 15-0 overall, its best start to a season in more than 100 years
  • Earns his second-consecutive Freshman of the Week honor and second this season
