The Bulldogs met Trine University for their first MIAA road game of the season. Adrian fell behind in the first half, and despite winning the second half of play, the Bulldogs fell to the Thunder 69-59. This loss leaves Adrian at 4-9 on the season and 0-2 in the MIAA.
Adrian started the game by taking an early 9-6 lead. Trine followed this by going on an 8-0 run over 3:21 of the game to leave the score at 14-9 with 11:12 left in the half. The Thunder carried this lead through the next five minutes of play until a 7-0 run late in the half put Adrian at a 11 point deficit with 4:32 left to play. The Bulldogs could not recover from these runs and found themselves down 36-25 at the break.
The Bulldogs started the second half by keeping the score at a manageable margin until they broke out a 7-0 run to climb within 5 points of Trine with 10:24 left in the game. Trine immediately responded to this run with an 11-0 run to put the Bulldog deficit at 16 with 3:55 left in the game. This run left Adrian behind for good at the Thunder would secure the victory 69-59.
Ben Rodak led the Bulldogs with 19 points and seven rebounds. Wesley Reed scored 11 points and Curtis Gordon tallied nine points.
Adrian will see action again January 15 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich. to take on Calvin College at 7:30 p.m.
