Toledo tie to 2014 Car and Truck of the year

Posted: Updated:

Toledo built transmissions are driving in a lot of attention at the North American International Auto show. GM has announced the new 8 speed transmission will be going into the 2014 Car of the Year, the Corvette Stingray. Toledo built 6 speed transmissions are in 16 other GM vehicles, including the Truck of the Year, The Chevy Silverado. The 8 speed line is still in launch mode but full production is expected in the coming months. The Stingray will be in showrooms late this year or early 2015. As of right now, the Corvette is the only vehicle the 8 speed is being used in, but GM leaders say other vehicles are a possibility in the future.
