Teenagers "Flash Rob" Lima store

Posted: Updated:

You've heard of a "flash mob," where a crowd starts dancing.

A "flash rob" is when a group of people rush into a store and steal many items at once.

Lima police say social media steered them to this so-called "flash rob."

The surveillance video from Riverview Pizza on South Pine Street is posted on YouTube.

You can see a half dozen people rush into the store, shoplift all at once, then leave.

Police say this happened last month and that the owner of the store did not report it when it happened.

Officers have now identified all six of the suspects, including 5 who are students at Lima Senior High School.

Lima detectives thanked tipsters on Facebook for bringing the crime to their attention.
