Autopsy of 29-year-old Toledo man still pending

Posted: Updated:

The autopsy of a young man who died Wednesday is still pending. Promedica Saint Luke's told the coroner's office 29-year-old Eric Sherman Jr. had influenza and pneumonia.

Eric's father says his son wasn't feeling good, went to a local urgent care, came back home and just felt terrible. He was so sick that he was transported by an ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he died.

The 29-year-old graduated from Bowsher High School in 2002. His father says Eric was a talented musician who taught himself how to play the drums. He attended the University of Cincinnati and Owens Community College.

"He was very jovial, very adventurous and he loved people and he had an ability to touch a lot of people. He was very good to be around, humorous hard worker and serious about his craft he was a banker at Charter one and also serious about the young people in the church he served a youth leader," says Eric Sherman Sr.

Sherman Jr. leaves behind a wife and daughter who will celebrate her third birthday on Friday.
