Tow truck driver hit in Erie County

A tow truck driver was taken to the hospital after being hit in Erie County.

This is the third accident involving a tow truck driver in January.

It happened around 9:15am Thursday morning on State Route 2 near State Route 13.

Troopers say 55-year-old Scott Farrell was hoisting a vehicle onto his flat bed, when an oncoming driver lost control and hit him.

Farrell was Life Flighted to Mercy St. Vincent's with what Troopers describe as life threatening injuries.
