Toledo's fire chief joined with thousands of others to say thank you and farewell to two Toledo firefighters killed in the line of duty last weekend.

Toledo Fire Chief Luis Santiago said a Last Alarm Service is planned for Private Stephen Machcinski and Private James Dickman, the two Toledo Firefighters who were lost in the line of duty on Sunday.

The service is open to the public and will be held at the Seagate Center on Thursday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be overflow seating at The Huntington Center, and parking will be free downtown.

Santiago says seating is limited to 5,000 and he expects firefighters from all over the country to attend.

A private service will be held for the families at a later date.

There will also be a public showing for James Dickman at Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg on Thursday, prior to the Last Alarm ceremony. The showing runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Private Dickman leaves behind a wife, 3-year-old-daughter and 1-month-old son.  Donations to the Dickman Family Memorial fund can be made at any PNC bank.

Private Machcinski's funeral will be Saturday. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking that donations be made to the memorial fund for Private Dickman's family.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
