Community helps Perrysburg Twp Firefighter who lost home

Posted: Updated:

The community is coming together to help Perrysburg Township firefighter, Bill Crosser, who lost his home in a fire.

Crosser was on-duty in Perrysburg Township when a call came across for a fire. Turns out, it was his own home. Crosser's wife suffered smoke inhalation, the family pets died in the fire and the home is a total loss.

Crosser only has the clothes on his back and today spent time with fellow firefighters digging through the rubble.

The men all share a common bond of public service and a love for motorcycles, they are all members of the Axemen, a motorcycle club for firefighters.

His close friend Rich Knight, describes Crosser as a caring friend, one always willing to go above and beyond for those in need.

Now the tables have turned and Crosser needs help. He lost everything inside of his home, including multiple cats, dogs, a bird and turtles. He also lost two motorcycles and is still hoping to locate his wife's wedding ring in the rubble. She had left it on the dining room table.

Perrysburg Township has set up a special facebook page with donation information. If you would like to help, click the link and find out what the Crosser family needs.
