2 injured after explosion in downtown Defiance

The Defiance Fire and Rescue Division responded to a reported explosion with injuries at 111.W. High Street where they report two people were injured.

The call came in at 4:33 a.m. from the building that houses the business, Sensory Effects.

A fire in the building was was kept in check by suppression systems and was extinguished by crews on the scene.

Some structural damage occurred to the building due to th explosion, say officials,  but the damage was considered minimal. The injured workers were taken to local hospitals.

Clinton Street was closed for about two hours and traffic was allowed after 7:30 a.m. The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
