Lourdes watched a 13-point second half lead vanish on Saturday afternoon, but the Gray Wolves never allowed Indiana Tech to take the lead, and pulled out a 64-56 victory over the Warriors at Tam-o-Shanter.

Eric Worthey (Cleveland, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley H.S.) led Lourdes with 16 points, making 6-of-7 free throws, while Zach Steinmetz (Toledo, Ohio/Saint  John's H.S.) tallied his fifth straight double-double and eighth in his last nine appearances.  Steinmetz finished with 14 points and a game-high 19 rebounds.

Lourdes shot 65% from the floor in the opening half while holding the Warriors to just a 30% clip as the Gray Wolves built a 33-22 lead at intermission.  An 11-4 run over five minutes put Lourdes on top 19-11 at the nine minute mark of the stanza, but Indiana Tech fought back to close within four, 23-19 at the 4:07 mark.  The Gray Wolves scored 10 of the final 13 points in the half, capped by a Jerome Talton (East Cleveland, Ohio/Shaw H.S.) three-point to hold the 11-point halftime lead.  Talton was 5-for-5 in the opening half, scoring all 12 of his points on the day in the opening 20 minutes.

A Steinmetz put back to open the second half extended the lead to 13 before Indiana Tech made a run.  A 15-3 spurt in just under seven minutes pulled the Warriors to within one, 38-37 as Lourdes missed 10 straight shots following the Steinmetz lay-in.  The Gray Wolves extended the lead back to four several times before Indiana Tech tied the game at 47 with 5:50 to play.  Steinmetz answered on Lourdes next possession and the Gray Wolves took the lead for good.

Indiana Tech was still within one, 54-53, with under three minutes to play before Lourdes made 10 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Despite shooting just 38.1% in the second half, Lourdes finished the afternoon 51.2% from the floor.  The Gray Wolves held a 37-24 advantage on the glass to overcome 15 turnovers.  Indiana Tech committed just eight turnovers on the day but shot just 31.1% from the field.

Jeff Hoskins led Indiana Tech (14-9, 9-6 WHAC) with 20 points while John Cooksey and Nick Lewis each added 13 points for the Warriors.  Cooksey also had a team-high eight rebounds.
