Like many others in Toledo and beyond, Exceleration Gymnastics Center wanted to reach out to the Toledo Fire Department after the tragic loss of two firefighters.
"Think of everything they do for us, this is the least we could do for them," Steve Reamey, a coach at Exceleration said.
Each Monday, the center has open gym, but this week was a little different.
Instead of a standard door fee, the cost was donation based.
All of it goes to the families of Private Steve Machcinski and Private Jamie Dickman.
They called it "Flipping for Firefighters."
"We have prizes that we're raffling off, we have a ton of prizes," Jennifer Lambdin, owner, Exceleration Gymnastics Center, said.
The event was put together in just one week.
Organizers say it was a small price to pay.
"I'm kind of paying it forward to the firemen that helped us out," Lambdin said.
Lambdin knew she had to help, especially after her life was touched by the department.
"They have a special place in my heart because a couple of years ago we had a house fire," she tells 13abc. "They took care of us."
Some Toledo firefighters even got to see the fundraiser first hand.
Donations are being excepted at PNC banks and any Toledo Police or Toledo Fire Credit Unions.
