Lauren Tilden (Ravenna, Ohio/Ravenna H.S.) made eight three-pointers on her way to a career-high 31 points on Saturday afternoon, helping Lourdes match its highest scoring output of all-time in defeating Marygrove 91-73 at the Northwest Activities Center in Detroit, Mich.
Tilden scored 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc in the first half, then added four more triples in the second stanza on her way to 17 points and an 8-of-13 night from long range overall. The redshirt-junior added six rebounds and four assists while playing 38 minutes.
As a team Lourdes 91 points match the school record, set originally on Nov. 18, 2011 against Pittsburgh-Titusville and then matched again on Feb. 9, 2013 at home against Marygrove.
Tarynn Hampton (Saint Louis, Mo./Alton H.S.) added 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor, helping the Gray Wolves shoot 51.9% from the field on the afternoon. Hampton also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
Lourdes finished the game with five players in double figures. Tiffany Scott (Ottawa Lake, Mich./Sylvania Southview H.S.) tallied 13 points, making 5-of-7 from the floor, while Tiffani Blackman (Toledo, Ohio/Start H.S.) chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds. Jessica Durr (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton H.S.) went 8-for-8 from the free throw line on her way to 10 points.
Leading 34-33 with under two minutes remaining in the first half, Tilden drained a three-pointer and Lourdes made three free throws in the final seconds as the Gray Wolves scored the final six points of the stanza to take a 40-33 lead into the locker room.
A 10-2 run early in the second half pushed the Gray Wolves' lead to 16. 53-37, with under 16 minutes remaining. The lead would grow to as many as 21, as Lourdes finished up the season sweep of the Mustangs.
As a team Lourdes made 11-of-20 (55%) attempts from three-point range and outrebounded Marygrove 45-31.
Raeha Weaver came off of the bench to lead Marygrove (2-23, 0-18 WHAC) with 23 points while Ciera Moore and Arielle Edwards added 17 points each.
Lourdes (6-19, 4-14) will return home to Tam-o-Shanter on Wednesday evening as the Gray Wolves host Northwestern Ohio. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
