Journey of the Heart helps local women

A local non profit organization that helps women succeed is expanding.Journey of the Heart offers free mentoring for women who need a little push or encouragement in life.  Today the founder gave us a tour and some insight into what the organization is all about.Mary Michel is the CEO and Founder of Journey of the Heart. She tells 13abc,

"Our mission is to help women discover help and healing for their every day life...and we do that by providing a one to one mentoring program and its free of charge to every woman in the community regardless of their financial situation. "

Journey of the Heart opened in South Toledo in 2008 with just a dozen clients...now the organization serves more than 70 women.   She tells 13abc,

"We work with women ranging from all different life issues...from being a single mom ...to have been coming out of abuse...or maybe they are currently in it...they have lost their way in life and they need some help getting back on track. "

Journey of the Heart is in the process of expanding to serve even more women. Michel tells 13abc,

"Women can come and know they are not alone in the struggle...they have a safe place to come and someone will hear their voice."

Sessions are confidential and the women served can remain anonymous....this whole mission is a god inspired mission...we are a Christian organization and were here for every women regardless of their background or belief...and we belief so strongly in the one to one mentoring...that we've seen incredible results transformational activity happening in their hearts and in their lives."  If your interested in the services Journey of the Heart provides...you can call at (419)720-2446.

    Police say a school bus driver for a private transportation company was killed when the bus rolled over her during an evacuation drill outside an Akron charter school.
