Support for man in need of 3rd liver transplant

Aaron Mazur is a hardworking husband and father of two waiting for his third liver transplant.

Mazur's liver first failed in 1999 for unknown reasons and he received his first liver transplant. That organ was rejected, so he underwent a second transplant a year and half later.

Now 14, years later his liver is once again failing due to an infection.

The life-saving operation is very expensive, so friends and family held a benefit at Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania on Sunday to raise money. The event included a dinner, silent auction and raffle.

All proceeds went towards Aaron's medical bills.

His sister in law Megan Collins was grateful. "We live in a very generous community. The community really stepped up to the plate for this."
