Still in second place, for now

Posted: Updated:

***Update***  We officially received 4.1" of snow on Monday.  We now need 0.8" to break the all-time snow record...

The heaviest snow has moved out of the area with snow showers continuing early tonight.  We need 4.9" from this storm to break the all-time seasonal snow record of 73.1" set in 1977-1978.

The entire area remains under a *Winter Weather Advisory* until 3am/4am.

We've already received around 2"-4" in most areas this evening with another 1" or so possible overnight.  This will put us right in the 3"-5" range that was expected.  Winds have been from the east this evening ranging from 10-20 mph with occasional gusts around 25 mph.  Currently, the wind has calmed down under 10 mph as the storm passes through NW Ohio.  The wind will shift around to the west/southwest by tomorrow morning and pick back up to 10-20 with higher gusts.

Tomorrow will be dry, but breezy, under partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-30s.

Happy shoveling/snow blowing!

-Chief Meteorologist Jay Berschback
