Wheelchair football pits Crash against Glass City Rollers

Posted: Updated:

The Glass City Rollers traded their skates for a different set of wheels to take on the Toledo Crash in a wheelchair football game.

Wheelchair football is played on a basketball court and incorporates most of the traditional rules of football.

The action was every bit as intense as the roller derby track.

Player Dennis Mussery said, "Football is physical, it's an outlet. For some of the guys, this is their high school football, this is their college football. it gives them a chance to work up a sweat, get hit and hit others."

Both disabled and non-disabled players participated. The crash won 5-4 in sudden-death overtime.
