Defenseman Russ Sinkewich has been traded to the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for Defenseman Tyler Elbrecht and future considerations. Forward Aaron Bogosian has been traded to the Florida Everblades for future considerations.
Elbrecht joins the Walleye after appearing in 45 games this year with the Steelheads. The Edwardsville, IL native has picked up one goal, six assists and 110 penalty minutes. He just collected his first professional goal on Saturday night in a 4-3 loss to Utah. The first year defenseman spent the last four years in the college ranks at the University of Minnesota State-Mankato. In 142 contests at the college level, the 25 year old had three goals, 24 assists and 103 penalty minutes. Elbrecht was team captain in his junior and senior seasons for the Mavericks.
Sinkewich picked up one goal and 16 assists in 33 games with the Walleye this year, his first in Toledo. The 28 year old defenseman has also played in eight games this year with Texas and one with Lake Erie in the American Hockey League.
Bogosian has appeared in 19 games this season with the Walleye, posting three goals and nine assists. The 27 year old forward was acquired last spring by Toledo from the Everblades and had five points (2G, 3A) in 11 games. He also picked up three assists in six Walleye playoff games.
